We support, through prayer and finances, those who serve at Beacon Bible Camp, believing that taking care of their needs will allow them to excel in all that God does through them at camp.
Friends of Beacon was created in 2001 to help fund the On Site Team and summer staff at Beacon Bible Camp. Beacon's staff have always been volunteers, who were supported by individuals and churches who believed in the camp's mission. As the needs of camp grew beyond the capacity of one or two full-time staff members, it became clear that a separate foundation designed to financially support the workers at Beacon would allow the camp to maintain their salary-free model while sustaining the staff at the very heart of Beacon's mission.
“Friends of Beacon was able to give me financial security for the school year, and allowed me to spend my summer serving God”
— Torrie Lane, Summer Staff 2016
Today, Friends of Beacon supports four year-round staff members at camp, as well as the maintenance/lifeguard staff team during the summer months. Our model is not the traditional funding model for a summer camp (where campers would pay for staff salaries and honorariums), but it allows Beacon to keep their camp fees as low as possible, providing an excellent Christian camping experience to as many people as we can, regardless of their socio-economic status.
Friends of Beacon Ministries' goal is to see each of the staff positions at Beacon fully-funded, so that our year-round staff are able to focus on the important work of running camp. Our desire is that we will be able to secure enough funding so that Beacon is able to flexibly and responsibly engage the best staff person for the job, and expand its ministry to remain effective in the changing world.

It is imperative that we increase our donor base. While many of our current donors give quite generously to our ministry, we have observed that demographics are changing. We want to be ready for the future, so that Beacon can continue to operate as a ministry in the long-term. Small, regular donations will allow Friends of Beacon and the Beacon staff to plan for the future, as we continue to seek and trust God for His guidance. Want to know who you're helping? We have been blessed since 2001 to have a number of very generous monthly donors who have sustained Friends of Beacon through its infancy and into adolescence. Today, we're looking to grow in our maturity as a charity, by reaching out to new donors. If your life has been affected by the ministry of Beacon Bible Camp, we would encourage you to become a monthly donor to Friends of Beacon today, so that we can continue with God's work at Beacon Bible Camp tomorrow.
Your gift will allow Beacon's staff to focus their efforts on proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the children and families who come to camp.
